So, fellow citizens, now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country

Congratulations to Barack Obama.

It is now the duty of us all to acknowledge his victory and support his administration. I have serious disagreements with Obama's proposed polices on taxes, the economy and foreign relations. However, he deserves a fair chance. No one should doubt that he is our president and I am openly hopeful that he will prove me wrong.

This is a Democracy that requires peaceful transfers of power. It is time for all of us to rally to Barack Obama and give him a fair shot. No one should commit the same sin as many did in making a demagogue of President Bush in 2000 before he had spent a day in office. Obama deserves our praise, and our deference, regardless of whether we voted for him or not. If he doesn't succeed there is another election in 2010. Until then, it's his show.

Well put...I, too, feel the same. I hope that these next four years will be prosperous. I appreciated the 5% jump in my portfolio today ;)

Are you happy? Congrats!

Are you worried? Condolences.

Regardless, we are destined for "interesting times."

I'm not sure that's an entirely fair comparison... there were very good reasons for people to doubt that President Bush had actually been elected in 2000, and there's no such doubt here. And I really don't think that objecting to the total disaster that was Palm Beach County in 2000 is quite the same as preventing the peaceful transfer of power in a democracy. Similarly, Obama deserves your respect perhaps, for having won the race handily and inspiringly, but he doesn't necessarily deserve your praise or your support until you see what he actually does.

You are right...the times are too perilous not be get behind a president who will, I believe, attract the best and the brightest to his administration One of the biggest differences in this administration vs the Bush administration, is I don't see the personal adgenda to change the world and the people to fit their dream, not the dream of the American people.
