The Iraqi Government just took official control of Anbar Provence.
This won't get reported anywhere in the US press. Actually it looks like the IHT is the only place that even mentions it. Admittedly, I would have been happier to see this report sometime in early 2005, but I guess late is better than never.

Well, actually...
I read it first on yahoo! and then, again on BBC. Surprising it was on yahoo. I have found they usually report some pretty decent news in their headlines inside personal email accounts, but I usually rely strictly on UK circulations--BBC, The Economist and FT.
I know it may be a bias view of the world, but I feel they best convey facts and HATE American publications for their reliability. The only thing I can rely on them for is a good laugh!
Sidenote: LA Times has to be one of the worst newspapers!
Yes, the LA times is one of my most hated. NY times and Washington Post used to be on that list but both have made a bit of a resurgence of late.
You know about my long-standing boycott of the WaPo, so I can't update you on that one, but the NYT actually ran it front-page this morning (although it was below the fold, and apparently less important than the "debate" over whether or not Sarah Palin's allowed to have children AND a job). Still, it's certainly the U.S. press, and probably counts as the "lib'rul media."
Just because the NYT has gotten better balanced in its political coverage doesn't make it less sexist.
